10-week engagements that are designed to enable economic mobility for minority founders while a learning experience for our students
About
Each semester, BTG partners with four to five minority-owned businesses to carry out pro-bono consulting engagements. Teams of BTG students (“Student Consultants”) collaborate to develop innovative solutions for the business problems faced by our clients. Our past work includes building a pricing model for a Black-owned landscaping and construction company and creating a digital marketing strategy for a wellness-focused ecommerce shop.
For Students
Providing our students with hands-on experience is a critical step in the journey to fulfilling our mission of cultivating future BIPOC business leaders.
While engagements are most directly applicable to students interested in consulting roles, the broad range of industries and project objectives we are tasked with allow Student Consultants to strengthen a diverse set of skills, including financial analysis, operations, slide creation, team building and more.
Additionally, completing a client engagement is a very rewarding experience for Student Consultants because their work often has a transformative impact on the company.
For Clients
The diversity of BTG students’ backgrounds and expertise allow us to support clients in almost any industry or functional area.
Our in-depth onboarding process ensures that we gain a deep understanding of each clients’ needs and the projects are both valuable and realistic in scope.
Furthermore, all of our projects are free of charge without compromising on quality, and we can even provide financial support to clients to implement our recommendations through our Implementation Fund.
