Each semester, BTG sets out to attract our country’s best and brightest diverse students. In our most intimate and selective cycle to-date, we couldn’t be more proud to welcome BTG Cohort 7, our newest addition to the BTG Family!

23 new members prevailed from our ultra competitive process, admitting less than 4% of candidates. With an average SAT score of 1500 (98th percentile) and GPA of 3.94, these students epitomize excellence, and are undoubtedly the diverse business leaders, investors, and philanthropists of tomorrow.

At BTG, we aim to foster community and facilitate connections among our country’s most transformative future diverse business leaders. BTG goes beyond being merely a student organization; we are a lifelong network committed to advancing individuals of color within our broader society.

Introducing Cohort 7:

Wunmi Omololu | Cornell University

Wunmi Omololu is a sophomore studying Economics at Cornell University. This summer, she will be joining Goldman Sachs as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in the Consumer Retail group. Outside of school, she enjoys playing tennis and golf, loves to travel, read, and explore fashion. She also enjoy spending time with family and friends!

Eric Walker | Virginia Tech University

Eric is a sophomore at Virginia Tech, majoring in Finance with a minor in Philosophy. Driven by a keen interest in both public and private markets, he aspires to leverage his experiences to broaden financial opportunities for those with limited access. Last summer, he spent time with Evercore ISI, and will be returning this summer in equity research. In his free time, Eric enjoys distance running, video editing, and learning new things.

Victoria Quimper | Duke University

Victoria Quimper is a sophomore at Duke University studying Economics and Biology. She was born in Peru, but has lived most of her life in Miami! She will be working at Morgan Stanley this upcoming summer under their Investment Banking division. In her free time, she loves playing pickleball, eating ice cream, and hanging with her best friends.

Ana Almeida | Cornell University

Ana Almeida is a sophomore from Champaign Illinois, majoring in Applied Economics and Management at Dyson within the SC Johnson College of Business with an intended concentration in Finance. Ana is the VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Cornell Investment Banking Club, a member of the Mutual Investment Club of Cornell, and a member of the Dyson Undergraduate Council. This past summer, she worked as a data analyst for an automotive private equity firm. Next summer she will be working as an Investment Banking Sophomore Summer Analyst at Morgan Stanley. In her free time, she loves traveling, hiking, working out and finding new restaurants to try.

Ethan Graham | Howard University

Ethan is a Freshman Honors Finance major from Tampa, FL studying at Howard University. He is an incoming Private Credit intern at HPS Investment Partners in the New York office. He loves to play basketball in his free time and experiment in the kitchen. He’s also a very big sneakerhead!

Lookman Mustapha | Columbia University

Lookman is a freshman at Columbia University studying Computer Science and Mathematics with an interest in exploring the finance and technology industries. Throughout his academic journey, Lookman has indulged in immersive experiences at tech firms such as Jane Street and continues to look forward to exploring diverse industries in the future. Beyond his academic pursuits, Lookman finds solace in cooking, exploring, and traveling.

Udayveer Sekhon | CUNY Baruch College

Uday is a freshman at Baruch College pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance & Investments. He actively participates in Accenture’s Student Leadership Program and previously served as a Jumpstart Scholar at Morgan Stanley. During his free time, he enjoys exploring diverse cuisines, maintaining a fitness routine, and spending time with his loved ones. His career aspirations lie in investment banking, with a long-term goal of establishing his own special situations hedge fund.

Nancy Onyimah | Columbia University

Nancy is a junior at Columbia University majoring in computer science. She is most interested in what lies at the intersection of economics, computer science, and environmentalism and how these three disciplines can interact to create a sustainable and inclusive future for all. This upcoming summer, she will be joining Mastercard in product management focusing on technology, strategy, and innovation. Outside of academia, she loves sewing, writing on her creative fiction blog, and Goodreads!

Daman Bhalla | Wake Forest University

Daman is a freshman at Wake Forest University studying Finance and Computer Science with interests in private equity. He sold his first company, The Hurry Up, and have used that capital as a springboard into his next venture, Atlantic Prime Estates. In his free time, he enjoys watching Boston sports, reading, and swimming/biking.

Catherine Mekhael | University of Michigan

Catherine is a sophomore at the University of Michigan studying business, biology, and statistics. With past experience at a med-tech startup, she will be joining Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a Summer Associate in Chicago this summer. Outside of school, Catherine enjoys reading, going to local coffee shops, and spending time with friends.

Hanna Cardona | University of Southern California

Hanna Cardona is a sophomore at the University of Southern California majoring in Business Administration with strong interests in the non-profit sector and consumer goods industry! She is currently a L’Oreal Fellow, an intern at Project Destined, and will be interning at the Boston Consulting Group this summer. In her free time, Hanna loves drawing, boxing, and reading.

Marco Valsania Bacherer | Claremont McKenna College

Marco is a junior at Claremont McKenna College studying Economics, Data Science, and Finance. He is originally from Bolivia and Chile but attended high school in Costa Rica. Marco is both a PIMCO and a Davis Scholar and has interned at Ernst & Young, Bank of America, and McKinsey in the past. He enjoys learning Portuguese and exploring Latin America in his free time.

Yero Diamanka | University of Chicago

Yero is a freshman at the University of Chicago studying economics, Global Studies and Media, Arts, and Design! He is interested in consulting primarily in the non-profit sector and participated in PwC’s extern program to learn more about non-profit consultancy. Also, Yero is interested in exploring Business as a whole to learn more about what to do as Business is broad. In his free time, Yero loves to bike around campus or in his hometown, Brooklyn, New York, try new foods downtown, and explore new places. Yero wants to study abroad somewhere in Europe and Africa by the end of his four years. Overall, Yero is excited to join BTG for the fantastic community it has fostered and the amazing network that they’ve built!

Nana Kofi Oduro-Nyaning | UNC Chapel Hill

Nana Oduro-Nyaning is a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Political Science with a minor in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics with interests ranging from educational equity to global affairs. A Morehead-Cain Scholar, he looks forward to his next Summer Enrichment Program in the form of a civically-oriented internship. In his free time, Nana enjoys playing football (soccer), running, reading, and watching political dramas.

Simon Armstrong | Howard University

Simon J Armstrong is a sophomore Computer Science Major, currently attending Howard University from Prince George’s County, MD. This past summer Simon interned at Cambridge Mobile Telematics and looks to continue building his professional experience in his upcoming role as an incoming Summer Analyst at Oaktree Capital Management L.P. on their Global Opportunities Team. On campus at Howard University, Simon has been recognized with the Howard University Leadership Merit Scholarship and actively participates in leadership activities, including the Howard University Undergraduate Student Assembly, The Howard University Investment Group, Milken Institute HBCU Strategic Initiative and Fellowship, and AltFinance Fellowship Program.

Ebun Ajao | UPenn

Ebun is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania studying Finance and Behavioral Economics. She’s interested in real estate, sustainable energy, financial literacy, and books. She’ll be interning at Soros Fund Management this summer, and is interested in investing roles. When not reading a book or cooking, you can find Ebun running, finding new travel spots, and taking pictures of everything.

Elizabeth Paulin | Syracuse University

Elizabeth is a junior at Syracuse University, interning at Goldman Sachs this summer in the private investing division. As a current VC intern at BVCC, her long-term interests are aligned with venture capital, focusing on fundraising for companies launched by minority founders. In her free time, Elizabeth figure skates and likes to go out to eat with friends and family.

Natasha Marangu | Northwestern University

Natasha is a sophomore at Northwestern University and is originally from the SF Bay Area. She will be doing Girls Who Invest’s Summer Intensive Program this summer. In her free time, she loves to exercise, journal, go out to eat and spend time with friends!

Matthew Yekell | Stanford University

Matthew is a junior at Stanford studying Computer science. This summer, Matthew is interning at Vista Equity Partners as a Private Equity Summer Analyst in the Austin office. Previously, Matthew has completed internships at Strategy& and the Chicago Board Options Exchange. In his free time, Matthew enjoys standup comedy and playing poker.

Solomon Fields-Jackson | UPenn

Solomon Julian is a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Economics with interests in finance and real estate. He is an active member of the Wharton Undergraduate Private Equity and Venture Capital Club and the Real Estate Club. Solomon has interned at Interactive Corporation, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs. In his free time, Solomon enjoys traveling, astronomy, anime, the Dune Chronicles, geography, Formula 1, and fashion.

Matteo Wakeman | Harvard University

Matteo is a sophomore at Harvard University studying Economics with a minor in Computer Science with interests revolving around finance, technology, and healthcare. He was a previous summer associate in Venture Capital and is looking to pursue finance long-term. In his free time, Matteo enjoys playing soccer, deejaying, lifting weights, and spending time with family and friends.

Hector Benitez Ventura | University of Michigan

Hector is a student at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business studying business administration with a minor in Biology. He interned at Springer Capital this past summer and will be joining General Atlantic this upcoming summer. In his free time, Hector enjoys reading, running, and going out with friends.

Maya Stern | University of California, Berkeley

Maya is a Silicon Valley native majoring in Economics and Data Science at UC Berkeley. She is currently a private equity spring analyst at Tilia Holdings and an equity research intern at Wall Street Oasis. This summer, she will be joining PeakSpan Capital as a software growth equity analyst. Extremely passionate about educational equity, Maya also has previous experience working in product management at an edtech startup. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, going to concerts, and grabbing sushi with friends.
